Spring Has Sprung

Hello Everyone, I am back. With flowers blossoming and all, I thought I would write about colors for spring. Now, I know the makeup trend has been for a soft natural look. And I think this is appropriate for spring, but now let us experiment with new shades. Go for glimmery colors, like copper and gold. A sparkly rose will really make your eyes pop. Shimmery rich colors like emerald, purple, deep blue along with a good masacara can make for a very dramatic, yet delicate look. All you have to do is apply these bold colors lightly and blend well.

Getting past the Winter Blues

I know it has been a while, but I must confess: I have had a case of the "Winter Blues." Here in North America, it is cold in most places; there is cloud cover virtually everyday. It makes it very difficult to have the gusto needed to get through ones daily routines. I have come up with a couple of things that have helped me some and perhaps they can help you too.

Try aromatherapy. I don't mean simply getting special oils to burn or candles. I'm talking about going out and getting a great fragrance that reminds you of Spring and Summer; fun and frolick. Escada has some great fragances that are tropical and fruity. I think any white floral or oriental/woody fragrance is a great pick me up. The same can be said for the lotion as well. I nice perfumed lotion with a little bit of sparkle can lift anyones spirits.

Wonderful World of Scents

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. As we look forward to New Year, we are all planning wonderful evenings with beautiful gowns and nice make-up, but what do we wear as a scent? Such a question is easy to answer, go with what you know. Personally, I would stay away from "celebrity" scents as they often smell cheap are an imitation of something that is already out there. If you can afford to splurge look to Chopard or Lavin or Dior. I love scents that are exotic and fruity; heady and oriental. To me, this is the smell of glamour and magic.

The most fun I can have is sampling different scents. Have fun and try something new in the New Year.

Soft and Supple in the Chill of Winter

Wintertime in colder climates can be a real challenge to dry skin. The crispness of the air can make skin cracked, chaffed and super dry. There are several things people can do to keep their skin soft and supple throughout and winter months.

The first thing is to cut back on the those piping-hot showers. Those hot showers feel great when it is icy outside but it does a number on your skin. Try to take moderately warm showers and use a moisturizing bodywash.

After you finish your shower, gently pat yourself semi-dry and then apply your favorite body oil. This will keep you moisturized throughout the day. My favorites are coconut oil, cocoa butter oil, sweet almond oil and olive oil.
