I got into botox early, I was getting some collagen injections in 1999 when it was still a fad to get botox, and Jay Leno made fun of us for getting the procedure. Since then I've become a quiet advocate for what I consider to be the most economical and effective procedure on the market today.

Anyway, when I was getting the collagen injections my doctor suggested trying this new thing. Of course, I had been hearing about it for a few years and so I decided to give the botox a try. I waited until the plumping from the collagen had gone away - for me it only lasts about 4 months and then got the procedure. The first time it made me a little nauseous but I came through ok and by the next day I think the wrinkles around my lips that I was trying to get rid of with the collagen were gone and it was much less painful than collagen.

Each botox treament lasts close to 8 months for me so I only go to my doctor half as often and I'm off the collagen - but that's another story.
